Magento 2.3 End of Life

6-Magento-2-Ready

Official support for Magento 2.3 ends September 8. 2022.  Here’s what you need to know.

What does EOL mean?

End of Life means that Adobe will no longer be doing any work on Magento 2.3. The platform won’t receive any official updates, patches, or support. This includes security patches and bugfixes, too, as well as PCI  compliance updates.  You will no longer be able to file tickets for support and extensions will become limited.

What should I do?

An upgrade to Magento 2.4 is required to keep your site fully supported and up-to-date. Once Magento 2.3 enters the EOL phase, you are using it at your own risk. If there are any serious vulnerabilities, security flaws, bugs, or other problems with the platform, they won’t be receiving official fixes. This may not be a big deal at first. But over time these problems may become more significant, and more threatening to your eCommerce store.

How do I upgrade?

Since any upgrade can be more complex than anticipated, we recommend coordinating efforts with us to ensure that you have the proper backups and staging environment prior to starting the upgrade process. Also, since Magento 2.4 is designed to work with different versions of PHP and MySQL, we want to ensure that your system is capable of handling the new Magento version.
